Crisanto F. del Rosario, Jr., 73, passed away on August 10, 2017 from squamous cell carcinoma. Born at St. Joseph Hospital in Manila, Philippines, Crisanto immigrated to the United States in 1967 and settled in Demarest, NJ. A chemical engineering graduate of National University in the Philippines, he spent over thirty five years working at Ames Rubber Corporation, most recently as Vice President, Materials and Product Development.
An avid athlete, he played basketball competitively as a young man in the Philippines. Upon immigrating to the U.S., he picked up tennis, golf and skiing — teaching his children and grandchildren to love these same sports. He was passionate about classic cars and enjoyed restoration work both in his driveway and at a service shop he owned with his friends in Jersey City.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Christina, daughters Claudine and Cindy (with husband Edgar Tapan), brothers Jose (with wife Juliet) and Quirino (with wife Josefina), grandchildren Timyas, Amihan, Kali, Tala and Lakan, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
In lieu of flowers, Crisanto requested donations to Dr. Richard Carvajal’s work in cancer immunotherapy research.
