Dr. Charles Straniero passed away on October 27, 2017 at the age of 81 years. A native of the Bronx, NY, he was a lifelong and avid Yankees fan. He attended Columbia College where he earned a Bachelor of Science with a minor in Art History in 1957, and graduated with a Doctor of Medicine from Georgetown University School of Medicine in 1961. After completing his residency at Wayne State University School of Medicine, Detroit, MI, Charles served as a Captain in the US Air Force, stationed in Rantoul, IL, from 1966 – 1968. He was a Senior Attending Physician at Hackensack University Medical Center and a founding partner of Prospect Women’s Medical Center, where he practiced Obstetrics and Gynecology for 38 years and had the privilege of ushering over 4,000 new lives into the world. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marilyn (nee Caputo), his children Carla (Robert Barone) and John (Dawn Trusio). He was an enthusiastic and beloved grandfather to Michael, Jessica, Alec, Nicholas, John and Joseph.
